WOOD FM 105.7 1300 AM
WJQ FM 99.3 1260 AM
WEVS FM 92.7

In cases that result in early dismissal, students should be instructed what to do when they reach home. Children need to know the place of safety in their homes!

TORNADO WATCH:
In case of a Tornado Watch issued PRIOR to regular dismissal time, students will remain in school until normal dismissal time. The school will monitor conditions closely. Parents who wish to pick up their children MAY do so. If a watch is issued during DISMISSAL time parents MUST pick up their child/ren as there will be NO transportation until the watch is lifted.

TORNADO WARNING:
Students will NOT be dismissed during a tornado warning, but will remain in designated take-cover areas until the warning is lifted. If the warning is lifted during school hours, students will be dismissed at their normal time and transported home by bus. Parents MAY pick up their child; however, students will NOT be allowed to leave the building unattended, or with others without parental permission.

SCHOOL DELAY OR SNOW DAY:
Due to the fact that we are bussed by 2 different school districts, if either Hudsonville or Zeeland is delayed by 2 hours we are automatically delayed. The same is true of cancellation. Please tune to the above listed stations for information on delays/cancellations.

ATHLETIC EVENTS:
All practices and events will be cancelled when a tornado WATCH or WARNING is issued before school dismissal time. If a warning is called during a practice or game, students will remain under designated cover as indicated earlier.

DO'S and DON'TS:
You may pick up your child/ren during a tornado watch, but inform the school office first! You should NOT pick up your child/ren during a tornado warning. Everyone must take cover properly as soon as a warning is issued. Don't pick up other children unless authorized. Be sure the office is informed if you have permission to do so. Call school ONLY if an emergency exists.

Students are expected to spend their time before, during recess, and the noon hour out of doors. In case of inclement weather, students are allowed to remain in school, but must be quiet and orderly. In the event of very cold weather, students will be allowed to remain in school; the wind chill index as well as the temperature will be considered.
